So I have a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8t. I found an example one year newer on craigslist with a knocking engine, and offered the guy $400, and he said he’ll take it. Only difference is it has an automatic transmission instead of a manual. I’m going to buy it to use it as a parts car, because why not, but of course there will be some parts I don’t need. For one, I won’t need the transmission.

Is there an easy/convenient place to sell car parts, besides craigslist and ebay? Don’t want to ship everything, and I won’t be sure of the condition of the parts, so I don’t want to sell it to an innocent person and potentially screw them over. Is there anywhere local-ish (Columbus, Ohio) that takes used parts, for core use and stuff, or somewhere online that pays for shipping? The easier the better. Thanks!

Damn good idea. I’ve always wanted to make something like that, and now I guess I can!

I'd suggest finding a VW based forum/group to unload parts. from experience, there are people who hoard parts and will buy anything. And I mean anything.

I got distracted, and now I can’t stop thinking about German Village in Columbus. It’s a very underrated city. My mother is from Ashland so I’m in Ohio all the time doing Ohio things.

I don’t go down there too often, but it is a quite nice area. Doesn’t seem like it should be in downtown Columbus.
